David Mackintosh 

David Mackintosh is an artist based in Manchester, his work is distinctly drawing centred and employs a precognitive methodology to elicit ideas, narratives and imagery in gouache paint on paper. Drawings are often exhibited in large groups on wooden frameworks, or are converted to stop frame animation.

He has exhibited his work internationally in Europe and America, as well as the UK with major solo Exhibitions at Arnolfini Bristol, Cornerhouse Manchester and Chapter in Cardiff. His animations were included in the international survey of drawing exhibition ‘Drawing Rooms 2’ at Hamburger Kunsthalle. David’s work is included in major international collections including; Collection Berge Madrid, Ernst & Young London and The Whitworth Art Gallery Manchester.

The first monograph on David’s work, ‘Imagine you’re in a room full of blind fools desperately grasping at nothing’ was published in 2007. Recent Publications include; ‘Content To Gather’ with Joe Devlin, November 2016, Aye Aye Books, Glasgow, and Drawing Rooms 2, DVD, April 2017, Kerber, Hamburg.
